" Abraham`s groseries-shop"

The small groseries  - shop of „Abraham“

the first years I was happy to visit this little groseries - shop.
Like to remember " chez abraham "

”monsieur Abraham”  is a non-aged african who is busy in this
groseries-shop, together  with his family,
well-known in his quarter, a friendly respected person.
Nearly everything you could find there, as candles, matches, bread,
rice in open sacs, juice, condensed sweet milk, cans with vegetable.
one piece of bread with peanut butter for the children, one cigarette,
bonbons, spice small portions and everything not expensive.
Never I met other European people there, they prefer to go to the
big supermarkets. For me it means the connections to my childhood,
not feeling  strange and a with personal connection with the African people.
Often, after swimming at the beach, stopped there to have a brake,
looking for fresh bred ( baguette) an d fresh cold coke or fanta or
fresh peppermint leaves, or some other small things.
Some years later, closed and now a boutique for tourists.
Well usually it was the duty of my housekeeper in the morning,
to go to big fresh market to go shopping there for fresh fish or sometimes
fresh meat, vegetable, fruit , for preparing a good African meal.

special african woman

Fathou – spezial african woman

when I`ve got in touch with her, she was working in the small hotel.
Always busy, open minded, happy. She invited us to her private home to eat together, to dance, to cook, to laugh and explained us so many african secrets of African life, we did not know at this time.
She was really respected from neighbours in her small quarter she lived. Her good contact to the mosque where she was responsible for women
her problems, they were singing in the early evening.
one day she was so exited when she told us, she will marry again. Nobody knew her age, anyway the first years she seems to be happy with her husnand, a security man from Dakar. His family often paid a
visit, we were drinking “ schai” in the shadow of her mango tree. one day  fathou offered me to buy this piece of her sisters land , because she was  moving to another place. Well, she organized everything together with me, a few days later th agreement was fix before returning back.
Later I noticed she was a schaman woman.
After two years we were neighbours. Some difficulties with another european,
we knew each other for long time, the contact broke, and I became a lot of
difficulties and strange bad things happened. Somebody was against me.
As I did not know exactly and no evidence, had to help with my own african ritual
successfully. Changed the housekeeper family and tried to find the contact to
Fathou again. She explained her own problems with Abdoulay, separated now,
and we still stayed friends.

african neighbourhood

Neighbourhood in Africa
motivated of another blog – „ Mein Apulien“ here the story for you.

Separated with white walls but not isolated to the neighbours.
As everywhere on the world, neighbours are watching each other.
In this small village are also foreigners as owners, so it is more
interesting. Down on the side of the garden you can see the
house of “ Fathou”. On her side her cousins family.
His voice is rarely to hear but M`Bayes voice often, when she is
talking to her children giving some orders, what they should do.
then she is cleaning the sandy place, the house and is looking
for washed clothes. Always she is busy and always moving.
An African woman, tall and slim with power. Now some
rooms are rented to some craftsmen , who are in this area for
some time. In the evening I watch them, sitting outside with the
usuall “ schai” . The light at “ Fathous” house still is on.
The neighbours on the right side, always new owners, I do not
see , because they are not living here same time when I am here
for some weeks. The housekeeper and his family, the same as
every year, we are connected.
On front on the other side, a big compound of a French, when he
he was present, always many visitors with cars and laughter and
music, now it is empty, sold. Of cours I am missing Ibrahim, who
always was my special friend, after finishing his work there , he
came for a visit and can share my problems, a serious nice guide.
He lost his job now and last time could not find him any more.
Another big house from the rich Senegal man I can see the housekeeper
sometimes, everything proper and clean, always lighted, so for me it
means security. On the right, the house rented, Mammadou who is
responsable for the compound is not a foreigner, because for some
time he was busy in the hotel, I know him for long time.
So everything is fine, of course, neighbours are watching me too.
When I arrive, they are looking if I am alone, who are the visitors,
talking loudly to Abou, when wen we have problems, or if I am
listening to music, or painting, or leaving with a taxi, or having
“schai” in the late afternoon together with Abou.
It is very important to know your neighbours, for security or even
if you need some help. Not too close, but of course when I am absent,
it is their living quarter and they will have a look to my side.

Afrika is far away....

Abou the houskeeper, the other one with his 2 children, now there are four or fife children,
I do not know. once he old me, he prefer not to
have so many, but his wife is proud of her
children. Because in Africa means to be rich
to have a big family. They don´t have any other possibility for injurency, or social standards. Their injurence is the " clan".

Abou , mein Verwalter bereitet " schai"
weg.
this best, could not find out the name...
and at least I knew it was not not too dangerous, the bite, ice cooling and after 3 days , nothing to see anymore.

Remember theses musicians, with their selfmade instruments they played music in the small
restaurant at the seaside. fantastic music and songs. Fresh fish, crabs, on the grill, at a place
in the shadow, wonderfull- Later the restaurant changed to another place- -
When Chico, the owner died, it was not the same any longer.

african patchwork

african fabrics are not useless, not garbage, a lot of adventures,
many stories you can find, african dreams. More improvisation than
perfect patchwork, expert artists will do much more better, anyway.

picture of sorrow

This picture should remember the world of the existence of refugee-camps in the dessert
in a "nowhere" land where millions of people invisible and forgotten have to live.
took part of an article of a cultur- magazin cut and put it together in my own way
on a canvas, I have got from an artiste to create my own (acryl) to paint over...
it is a picure without words.

Scharf gewürzt gedippt in Tomaten-Zwiebel- Chilli-

sketches

starting 2016 with sketches for Barbara, so I shall
travell in my books to Asia, never had been there.
Although when I had been a yoga teacher, I was
busy with some asiatic culture. Reduction, feel
what seems to be really important for personal life,
for our world. Meditation - take every moment now
as a wonderful gift.
today you will klow the words:
"simplify your life".
When I travelled in Afrika, I discoveredmany many
fantastic plants and there I found the bamboo woods
in regions where rain is falling from time to time.
In different culture you will find plants which are
mystic and important for rituals, special.
only the  schamanes or marabouts keep this knowledge
till today..they know where you will find them.
only together with rituals the plants will keep their
power.

no one like to think about it, nor to describe or write about, we would like to be young for ever. But this is not possible in real life...
